1. Educate yourself.
Why do pores become more visible as you age? How does cellulite deposit around your eyes? And at what time during the day do you lose the most moisture?
If you're befuddling over the questions above, it's time to seek answers from informative resources. Your skin is the largest organ on your body, and it requires dedication to maintain a healthy status. I'm not suggesting becoming a dermatologist, but I do feel that you should learn more about your skin before wasting another dime on useless -- and sometimes harmful -- products.
In Dana Ramos' The Beauty Regime, you'll learn how to get flawless, ageless skin with minimal products. |
2. Eat nutritious foods.
No need to explain this. You are what you eat. And a diet full of veggies, fruits and protein gives you beautiful, glowing skin.
Fruits are sweet and delicious, and great for skin. |
3. Make time for yourself.
You've got family, career, a busy social life. I get it -- there's no time to yourself, but you have to try!
A daily half-an-hour of relaxation benefits your body, mind and skin.
Applying an invigorating mask is a great way to spend 30 minutes to myself. |
4. Buy a system that actually cleans.
There are so many products out there claiming to be miracles and quick-fixers. I can guarantee that none of them work.
Fast skin solutions are like fast friends -- they don't last.
What does work is a tried-and-true cleansing system that thoroughly cleans everyday to give you the best results overtime.
I'm sure you've heard of Clarisonic. Isn't it the best? |
5. Apply SPF
You might be too young to suffer the side effects of sun damage, but for a 35-year-old like myself, who has abandoned SPF too many times, sun damage can be identified through wrinkles, spots, and discolorations on my face.I don't regret the past, but I do regret not using SPF. So please protect yourselves.
Always go for "broad spectrum." |
6. Use night cream.
Since I started using a night cream, the quality of my skin has drastically improved. Now, I never go to bed without it.
Night cream works, and that's why I recommend it.
I highly recommend Elizabeth Arden Millenium. |
7. Cover up.
Whether you hide spots with concealer, or offset oily t-zone with powder, coverage provides a beautiful appearance. You don't have to cake on heavy makeup -- and no judgement if you do -- but a little coverage casts a pretty veil over your face.
Both M.A.C products work well. |
8. Exfoliate.
Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells; it makes your skin less ashy and more glowing. This is one of the best scrubs I've used so far. |
This was an excellent post! I need to use more sunscreen and moisturizer at night. I'm so bad at remembering those things. But they're crucial! Love the title of that book.

ReplyDeleteMy tips: no alcohol or smoking, lots of water. When I make a green tea in the morning, I use the tea-bags on my eyes ;-)
