Who is this self-absorbed fool who posts self portraits while sharing her favorite fashion blogs?
Sorry to be offending anyone, but this is my effing blog, and I can share whatever I want to.
This is also a fashion blog, about clothes and style I personally promote. Of course there will be self portraits.
Every fashion blogger does it. Either we are all self-absorbed, or none of us are.
Again, sorry if I'm offending you. But for f*ck's sake :O) you don't have to come back if you don't want to.
Fashion bloggers - we gotta stick together.
You need thick skin to be a fashion blogger, because putting yourself out there gets you a lot of flak. And for some reason, the meanest attacks are always done anonymously. It feels like being stabbed in the dark.
They make you wonder: if people are that sneaky online, what does it say about friends in real life?
Do they go behind your back, and make fun of your blog, laugh at your pictures, or criticize your every mistake, even though they've never taken the time to realize how much effort it takes to maintain a digital product?
I don't know. I hope not. These thoughts make me insecure :O(
And that's why fashion bloggers must stick together, because when you are out there for the world to judge, you need supportive peers who not only share your passion but also your vulnerability.
Like Sisters
Okay. Brothers too.
Whoever you are, whatever your style, I've got your back! I hope you have mine too.
My favorite fashion blogs - please pay them a visit!
AM2PMChic - These girls' mix of casual and business creates quite a unique set of outfits. Plus, I enjoy seeing their beautiful hometown of San Francisco.
The Citizen Rosebud - The Citizen offers cool vintage pieces that you can't find anywhere else. Definitely someone who thinks outside the box.
The Aesthetics Lounge - M is a mom like myself, who appreciates casual yet fashionable clothes. By the way, current blog post's outfit channels her style.
Chic Fashion World - Although my style changed after becoming a mom, I used to dress similar to her. I was all about dresses and heels and looking girlie.
Flight Girl Fashion - Wish I was as well-traveled as this girl - and had her body too.
A little place to call my own - This young lady has an unapologetic and unique sense of fashion. She's young, spunky and funky - a fresh breath of air.
Lotus Blossom Style - The sisters are so sweet, and have such easygoing vibe. One of my all-time favorites.
Fashion Chalet - This girl wears the brightest, boldest colors. Her outfits are always exciting.
Lilly's Style - Adore her style. Her outfits are right on.
High Heels and Good Meals - I like the way this girl dresses, because she selects the most low-maintenance pieces, and makes them sassy. I get excited each time she posts new entries.
Local Moda - Olga's style is Asian-inspired boho chic. Because she lives in a different part of the world, her pieces are completely authentic. She's definitely worth a visit.
Oomph. - Mom bloggers are the best. You've gotta check out this mom's cool, modern, yet completely comfortable style.

This fashion blog post is brought to you by DressProm.net, the ultimate destination for beautiful yet fashionable prom dresses.
Here's what DressProm has to say:
Next to her wedding day, the dream of every girl is to be the breath-taking, head-turning star of homecoming court or the homecoming dance. That dream can become a reality by choosing one of the dazzlingly stunning new for 2013 homecoming dresses at DressProm.net. Trying to decide which dress to choose from amongst the huge array available will cause the most difficulty. Dresses come from over three dozen designers in a huge array of colors and styles. Colors from animal or floral prints to purple- the color of royalty- are mixed in with pinks, greens, reds, whites, and even nudes. Like the other rainbow spectrum of colors, the ubiquitous “little black dress” is presented in so many styles it is almost impossible to decide. Short, long or high-low dresses combine with a myriad of additional style accents like sleeved or sleeveless, v-neck halter, ruffles, sequins, lace, or even feathers to showcase a girl’s best assets. Unusual concepts such as rompers or jumpsuits add an interesting twist to landing on the best dressed list. Plus- sized dresses are also well represented with an ample inventory from which to choose. The fun of which one to choose may take awhile, but one thing all girls can sure about is a style and color combination that displays her beauty and flatters her figure is available from DressProm.net.

Thanks for putting yourself out there, Girlie, and thanks for the shout out! I know blogging about fashion can really sharpen our narcissistic nature, that's why I appreciate shout outs- if we share the limelight, we broaden our own horizons, yes? I also think it essential to showcase DIVERSITY and variety so that means all shapes, sizes, ages and styles! So putting yourself out there displaying your true style can feel so empowering for yourself and for others. You are dressed in fantastic Seattle style- practical (love those boots!) and chic. Rock on!

ReplyDeleteSO true, it's always the anon comments that are the nasty ones. So easy for people to hide behind the computer screen and be bullies, that's what they really are. Some people never grow up.
And as personal style bloggers, how else would we share our looks?!
Ignore the haters! If they're hating, you must be doing something right. Jealousy makes people say mean things. What other explanation is there!?! ;)
Great look btw!
p.s. I've been following your blog for a long time but I don't know why it doesn't come up on my blog roll, it used to (same problem with some other blogs). I need to look into this.
Thanks so much for the shout out! It just made my day! :)
