Asian Makeup Tips - All-Over Bronze (Beauty Blog Post)

Asian Makeup Tips - All Over Bronze (Beauty Blog Post)

Confession: I've ugly teeth.

They're misaligned, crooked and unattractive. They're the reason why I smile with my mouth closed in pictures.

I tried fixing them, but my teeth have short roots, and correcting them means losing a few. Dentists and orthodontists gave me suggestions, but all of them require too much money and a lot of pain. Then I finally decided to keep my teeth the way they are -- ugly or not -- and accept myself the way I was born.

Asian Makeup Tips - All-Over Bronze

While browsing TotalBeauty.com, I ran into Jarah Mariano's monochromatic makeover. The look is natural and beautiful, and the bronze tones fit her warm Asian skin. Plus, an all-over bronze looks great for summer.

Step 1: Prep Skin

Mix moisturizer with foundation, and apply to face using either your fingers or a makeup brush.

The reason for adding moisturizer to foundation is because this is natural, summery makeup, and caking on heavy foundation looks too "done." Mixing moisturizer dilutes foundation's thick formula, and gives skin lighter appearance.

Step 2: Correct Spots

If you have dark spots and acne scars like I do, then add spot-correcting coverage with concealer. This way, you leave skin looking sheer but are able to erase trouble spots.

Step 3: Line Eyes

Apply dark brown eyeliner to your upper and bottom water lines. Again, this is a natural, summery makeup, and lining your waterline looks softer.

By the way, Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Eye Enhancing Trio in "warm nudes" has a great dark brown liner that works well.

Step 4: Apply Eyeshadow

I'm using Maybelline ColorTattoo in "Bad to the Bronze." It's a lovely bronze color that matches most skin tones. Also, a cream shadow like this one is easy to apply. But of course, you can use whichever bronze eye shadow you want.

With the ColorTattoo, you can just use a finger tip, and wipe shadow all over lids.

Step 5: Curl Lases and Add Mascara

I'm using L'oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions again. This mascara adds volume and separates lashes at the same time. One of the best drugstore mascara I've used.

Step 6: Apply Bronzer

Using a blush brush, apply bronzer all over your face. These are the spots I apply to: the apples of your cheeks, tip of your nose, forehead, and chin. Basically, anywhere your face receives the most sunlight.

Make sure you blend well, and make it look as natural as possible.

Done!

  2. This is such a gorgeous natural look! Love what the mascara does to your lashes :D I wonder if it's going to work on my measly short lashes, maybe I'll try it out. I've never tried any L'oreal mascara before.
