Why use night cream?
I was a cocky teen with perfect skin who thought of night cream as superfluous luxury. Then came my 30's and a problem called dry skin -- so dry that it looked ashy, pasty and borderline offensive.
Am I being punished for being cocky?
Why use night cream? Because your body spends the night replenishing and re-energizing itself. Your skin works at maximum capacity at night, and does a better job absorbing the essential vitamins and minerals provided by night cream.
Also, you perspire at night, and cannot hydrate yourself during sleep. This causes skin to lose moisture. Using a night cream before bed seals in moisture, and protects skin.
My own experience with night cream.
I cannot express how much I love using night cream. It really helped my dry skin problem. I now wake up with dewy, moisturized skin, and it feels awesome.
Best night creams - my recommendations:
1. Elizabeth Arden Millenium Night Renewal Cream
This product has a rich formula that lathers on thick, and lasts all night. I always woke up with the night cream still layered on my face.
My skin felt moisturized every morning, but never greasy or gross.
However, for some people, especially those with sensitive skin, this product may be too rich. Plus, it may clog pores.
2. Borghese Dolce Notte Reenergizing Night Creme
I just started using this, and am in love! Definitely one of the best night creams.
Though formula is not as thick as Elizabeth Arden Millenium's, it does just as great of a job moisturizing. But it feels lighter, doesn't clog pores, and still leaves skin fresh in the morning.
The only problem I have with this night cream is that it contains a ton of chemicals, including paraben.
Thanks for reading.
There are different opinions on the importance of night cream.
From my own experience, night cream is an essential part of daily skin care.

yeah, i used to be lazy about this before, but now i'm pretty religious about it. after a period of eczema, i started using First Aid Beauty (FAB) Ultra Repair Cream at night. love it and it's good for my sensitive skin.

I actually do not use a night cream! :X I think I probably should but I am always afraid they will be too heavy for my already oily skin. I didn't even know Borghese made skincare, I thought they only had nail polish!
