Thank heavens for products, namely foundation and concealer, but also makeup brushes that apply evenly to provide (the appearance of) flawless skin.
If I must be exact, I use four specific makeup brushes for full coverage. Rarely do I use them all at the same time, as each has its own advantage, but together they complete a faultless finish.
1. Concealer Brush by Benefit
Why do I love it?
I don't have time to get ready. (Writing for a fashion blog and two beauty blogs, and being a full time mom allots minutes for makeup.) On most days, concealer and moisturizer are my only help.
This concealer brush is easy to use, and blends naturally. Its brush head has the perfect shape for under eye area, and flatness to reach various crevices. The brush is also light for carrying around.
I love it, and use it everyday.
Cost: $22 at http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/product/view/concealer-brush. (Similar.)
Makeup Tip: Use a concealer that's slightly lighter than skin tone for areas under your eyes. Lighter color hides dark circles.
2. Foundation Brush by Bobbi Brown
Why do I love it?
Its soft bristles feel heavenly! Though it leaves streaks, as most flat brushes do, this foundation brush still applies smoothly and blends well.
Cost: $38 at Nordstrom.com
Makeup Tip: Press brush head down during application to fill in pores.
3. 188 Small Duo Fibre Face Brush by M.A.C
Why do I love it?
Like I said, flat foundation brushes leave streaks. For even application, I use M.A.C 188 on top of a flat brush application. This brush adds light texture, and creates smooth finish. It blends easily, and can be used with anything (powder, liquid, etc.)
Cost: $35 at http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/146/1391/Products/Brushes/Face/188-Small-Duo-Fibre-Face-Brush/index.tmpl
Makeup Tip: Circular motion works best for this brush.
4. Powder Brush by Sonia Kashuk
Why do I love it?
It's big; it's soft; and it covers a large area. You are done in just a few strokes.
Cost: $11.99 at Target.com.
Makeup Tip: Dust once, and even it out. Otherwise you will have clumps of powder on your cheeks.
