PREPPY IN PLAID - AN EVENT OUTFIT

One perk about freelancing for a local paper is being invited to the paper's events. 

Tonight, I'll be going to Northwest Asian Weekly's Contributors Dinner. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet other freelancers and staff members, and hear inspiring stories about leaders in Seattle's Asian American community.

Another perk? I get to dress up!


As a stay-at-home mommy, I live in sweats. Dressing up, therefore, is a huge deal.


After digging through the closet for old business clothes, I decided on this ensemble: 





I have professed my love for pencil skirts before, and I especially love this plaid one. 

Yup, yup. I'm a prep-ster!

Although the Contributor Dinner is an evening event, I think a down-to-earth brown works for a business-y setting.

The makeup, of course, looks earthy too. Lots of browns and nudes.
 



Woohoo! 

Now, out I go.
