LET IT RAIN. LET IT RAIN. LET IT RAIN - A SEATTLEITE'S UNIFORM

A Seattleite's uniform often provides function over form. 

Don't get me wrong, girls in Seattle love to dress up. However, it does get awfully wet and windy here, especially in the metro area. So, we do our best to cover up in style.

You'll often find us in cozy knits:

In Seattle, comfy is stylish

Wearing boots over skinnies -- better yet, rain boots. 

(How else do we spit-spat in the puddles?)

Rain boots - they are only fashionable in Seattle

Sometimes, you'll even spot us with brights, like my cherry lips for today.


Cherry lips - Adding a bright thought to a gray day

And don't forget an umbrella.

Okay, most Seattleites will laugh at me for carrying an umbrella. People here would rather get drenched. But I guess I am abnormal.

Unlike everyone else, I like to keep dry with an umbrella - oh shooosh!

Tada! I'm uniformed and ready.

    I love Seattle! And yes very few people there would carry umbrellas. In Chicago the current city uniform is a down coat.

    I'm from Vancouver (although three weeks go I moved to Australia - you can read all about that in my blog), and our city's uniform is very much like yours! I love Seattle, there are the most beautiful (and cheap) flowers at Pike Place Market! Cute blog, I'm glad I just discovered it!

    I love your rain boots! Infact, I love your whole 'uniform'! The current uniform in my town which is Leeds, England is as many layers as possible! Thick, wooly jumpers, hats, gloves and scarves because it's freeeeezing!

    I'm so jealous of you living in Seattle! I've always wanted to visit but will never be able to afford it :( Always makes ms think of the film Sleepless in Seattle! :)
