Udon is my favorite type of noodle. I like it in soup, but LOVE to fry it in a wok, which is a very unorthodox way of eating udon. But trust me! Fried udon is really good!
Here is how you can make this delicious, easy dish:
Step 1: Dice vegetables. (You can use any type of veggies you want, but I prefer scallions, onions or leeks. Today, I used leeks)
Step 2: Rinse vegetables thoroughly. Sometimes they can be very dirty.
Step 3: Use 2 packets of udon to make about 2 servings. (You can get them from your local grocery store. Normally they are in the same place tofus are sold, near the produce.)
Step 4: Heat up wok, pour in oil, and dump in the veggies. Fry until they are just a tad golden.
Step 5: When you take the noodles out of the bag, you might want to break them apart a bit
Step 6: Add noodle into the wok and stir at med - high heat
Step 7: After about 3 - 5 min of stirring, the noodles should be well cooked.
Take out 1 of the packets that came with the udon
(To ensure that your noodle isn't too salty, using 1/2 the flavoring packet is sufficient)
Add flavor packet into the wok and stir again for about 2 minutes
Step 8: Add meat of your choice
(this is optional)
DONE!!!!
Delicious udon noodle in less than 30 min.
ENJOY!!!!
Oh gosh I love a good stirfry!
